The Fiber Show is an educational and interactive gallery exhibition that showcases work by Nashville-based fiber artists. This exhibition is designed to show our students at Harpeth Hall that fiber art is a legitimate and exciting form of fine art and craft. Artists featured include internationally and nationally recognized fiber artists that specialize in quilting, fabric design, embroidery, paper making, and so much more!

Do you imagine your life stories as a painted masterpiece? Do you image them with color, with brushstrokes, with light and dark? Get inspired in this workshop where teachers will respond to a prompt to write a personal essay. Teachers will then create their own abstract interpretation of their story using color theory techniques. All supplies, and lunch, provided.

Get your stitch on in this week-long camp where students will learn classic embroidery techniques! Embroidery is an ancient fiber art used to adorn art, clothing, and more! In this camp, students will complete a sampler that features popular embroidery stitches, various projects that include text, and lots of sequins and beads. Students will leave camp with fun projects that they can display and wear, and with the skill and knowledge to continue their craft at home.

In this workshop, students will receive an introduction to the art of hand embroidery, including its history and its variations. With inspiration from the clothing featured in the Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism for the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection, students will complete a custom embroidery sampler that compliments the colorful personal style of Frida Kahlo. This sampler will include basic stitches that can be used in a variety of styles of hand embroidery. Students will leave with the confidence to continue embroidering at home.
