This week's Monday Muse is possibly the most influential film of my entire life. I have loved this movie since I can remember and God bless the people in my life that have watched it repeatedly because of my childhood obsession with it and have heard me quoting it since age 2.
The Wizard of Oz is really where it started for me. The imaginative sets and costumes, the saturated colors, and whimsical themes have inspired me since childhood. Every scene offers something special and it was hard for me to choose my favorite stills from the film.
I loved acting out most scenes and wanted to be every character, especially Dorothy and The Cowardly Lion. My favorite scene of the film is The Lion's solo "King of the Forest" (seen below). I not only loved how the song was sung and acted, but I love the green tones in the scene and how they make the splashes of red pop! I also love the fun props. They break a vase to make a crown and pull a rug over The Lion's shoulders for a cape! How inventive!
I hope you've enjoyed this week's Monday Muse and if you're ever interested in hearing me recite this film from start to finish please let me know.
