Drama Club

I graduated high school not that long ago in 2009. I loved participating in every play and musical, and would take any opportunity to sing, act, or make a fool of myself. I loved it so much that I didn't mind waking up at 5am to get on a bus for our speech team meets, or be at the the school for musical rehearsal every morning at 6am in the fall! I just absolutely adored being part of that kind of team.

That's why I was so delighted to speak to the Drama Club at my high school yesterday about being a professional in the arts! It was especially wonderful to speak alongside fellow alumnus Joseph Ryker who is now a working conductor, musician, and teacher! It warmed my heart to see the teachers that are so very special to me, and it was incredible to see that there are about 50 kids in the Drama Club! The club didn't even exist when I was in school... Or maybe it did and it was just in its formative years. To see all of these kids that are so excited to be part of the arts community was amazing! I was humbled and inspired by their enthusiasm and I am incredibly thankful for the people in my life that have encouraged me. It was a great reminder that we all can encourage and inspire others to be the best they can be.
